Rockwood’s natural gas system serves approximately 2700 customers. Natural gas is purchased by the utility from Spectra Energy, TEAC and Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility. The gas distribution system has been in place since the mid 1950’s. The natural gas portion of the utility is regulated by PHMSA and TPUC. There are stringent regulations to ensure the safety of both the customers and the employees. All our employees are trained to respond appropriately to gas concerns. The safety requirements are continually reinforced in order to protect our customers and the system.
